Environmental Education
The Society has developed liaisons with many local schools and community groups, and is following a course of public
education. To get involved or for more information please call our Secretary on 0424 650 560
or Jane on 07 3711 9346.
Karawatha Arts Festival
This program involves local students who are participating in an interpretive, creative, forest based arts program
which is being funded by Brisbane City Council, Logan City Council, and the Gaming Machine Community Benefits Fund.
Wildlife Corridor Protection
This involves the participation of local schools in preparation of the banners and posters which are erected at the
corridor sites during the week to highlight the positions of wildlife corridors around the Forest. It is hoped
that community understanding and awareness will lead to voluntary speed reduction by motorists and protection of
wildlife moving across these busy roads.
Contact the Society for information or ideas. We would love your input!
